Ian Strudley joined Balfour Beatty in Jan 18, having worked for HSE as an inspector for over 25 years dealing with the management of health risks, notably illness from asbestos, silica, lead and other hazardous substances including biological agents, and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), noise, vibration and skin disease.
He is currently the Chair of a newly formed HCLG Respiratory Risk Working Group and until his departure from HSE led the regulator’s Construction Division Health team including acting as Chair of the ConIAC Health Risks Working Group encouraging the industry to ‘treat health like safety'.
