Charlotte Slater

Director, The Workplace Collective

Charlotte Slater is a Director at The Workplace Collective, a leadership and performance coach, and a specialist in professional development with over 25 years' experience in training and coaching. She brings unique insights to the construction industry from her previous role as a founding team member and director at Citrus Training, where she helped grow the company to a multi-million-pound turnover business serving the built environment sector before moving on to set up her own company.

Her experience highlighted an industry-wide opportunity: enhancing the people skills and emotional intelligence of technically skilled professionals to complement their existing expertise. This insight became a key driver in her work at The Workplace Collective—focusing on these human qualities that are vital, yet often less emphasised in technically-focused industries like construction. At The Workplace Collective, she collaborates with psychologists to develop practical learning and development programmes that bring together psychological understanding and technical expertise.

The Workplace Collective's approach recognises that truly exceptional performance comes from these essential human abilities, which enhance teamwork and project outcomes while also positively impacting safety and wellbeing. Charlotte holds qualifications in Executive Coaching and Mentoring (ILM Level 7), Learning and Development (CIPD Level 5), and a background in Sociology and Psychology. She specialises in developing leadership skills, building authentic confidence, enhancing relationship-building and communication, and creating positive workplace cultures through people-centred approaches.
