Fullhurt Community College
Completed in 2018 this building is a large two storey teaching facility for Fullhurst Community College. The new facility will help the College expand it's offering to students and also provide future proofing for their growing numbers.
Internally the 72 bays form 18 classrooms, a plant room, five offices, three work rooms, a hygiene room, science prep room, three science rooms, an IT room, numerous stores and toilets.
The external finishes included a firestone roof, brick slip cladding and paneled cladding system, powder coated aluminium windows and doors. Internally we used painted plasterboard walls, suspended ceilings and various different finishes on the floors.
The modular building attached to a new build traditionally built linkway, which also attached to an old traditionally built building which was refurbed, the two other projects were ongoing as our works were being completed on site.
To add extra economical, whole life and environmental advantage to this permanent modular build we installed nearly 300 photovoltaic panels on the roof, providing an estimated annual output of 65,000kWh. Our calculations suggest that this would provide an EPC rating of A+, making this a carbon neutral building!
