Hail Test of Novatik NATURA WOOD - stone coated metal roofs tile

Novatik Stand: B350

Being present at the RoofCON conference in Orlando, Florida, in October 2023, we took advantage of the presence of Mathew Mulholland, an expert at π—•π˜‚π—Άπ—Ήπ—±π—Άπ—»π—΄ π—˜π˜…π—½π—²π—Ώπ—Ώπ˜π˜€ π—œπ—»π˜€π˜π—Άπ˜π˜‚π˜π—² and we tested some of the Novatik NATURA: WOOD and CLASSIC.
The test simulated the impact that large hailstorms can have on roofs during severe storms.
It used 1.5 inch (38 mm) pieces of ice, obtained in special molds, of the spike type (much more realistic in appearance than the perfectly spherical ones obtained in the laboratory) and a compressed air cannon, calibrated for certain test speeds (the formula for calculating the impact speed is complex and includes wind speed).

The Novatik NATURA WOOD profile was tested three times, the first two tests simulated an impact velocity of 100 mph (approx. 161 km/h) in two different areas of the panel, and for the third test the installation was used at its maximum impact capacity, reaching an impact velocity of 200 mph (322 km/h).
The Novatik NATURA CLASSIC profile was tested at speeds of 90 mph (145 km/h) and 120 mph (193 km/h).

The final conclusions impressed the audience, demonstrating that the Novatik NATURA behaved excellently during the tests, with no visible damage to the coating surface, no cracking and no loss of the rock layer.
Those present had the opportunity to examine and check the impact of the piece of ice on the Novatik NATURA panel in real time.
These tests demonstrate once again that Novatik NATURA roofs are an outstanding solution for the needs and trends of the roofing markets worldwide.
