Rising Star winner Bethany Collins at BPS Builders Merchants, commented, “I think that it’s great that UKCW does awards like these, especially for younger people coming into the construction industry and those doing apprenticeships like myself - It’s a great feeling to be recognised for your hard work.”

Sam Patel, Divisional Director – Construction, commented: “The Role Models campaign is a fantastic opportunity to showcase inspiring personalities in the industry who have great stories to share, whether this be thanks to unique skills, thought leadership, or stand-out achievements.”

“Seven years on since the campaign was first launched, the judges continue to be wowed with each and every nominees’ story, and this year was no different.”

Last year’s UKCW Birmingham Role Model winner was Barbara Akinkunmi, Founder of Girls Under Construction, which was founded in 2021 to bridge the gap for young diverse women pursuing construction and built environment careers.
