UK CONSTRUCTION WEEK ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH PROCUREMENT HUB FOR SHOW’S POPULAR BUYERS LOUNGE

With businesses across the UK now navigating the Procurement Act 2023 (which went live on February 24th), UK Construction Week (UKCW) London has announced Procurement Hub as its strategic partner for the show’s Buyers Lounge, a hugely popular focus at its sister show in Birmingham last October.

Specialist contractors who are looking to be added to construction project procurement solutions will be able to come to UKCW London (ExCeL, May 7-9) and speak directly with the Procurement Hub team alongside some of their key partners, to find out how they can help deliver placemaking solutions.

They will include:

  • Willmott Dixon - “As the main contractor for England on the Major Projects Framework for Procurement Hub, our construction specialists are passionate about what they build. Come and chat with us [at UKCW] about joining our network as a specialist contractor.”
  • Robertson Construction - “We are the main contractor for Scotland on the Major Projects Framework for Procurement Hub. With an extensive pipeline of work for the remainder of the framework with Procurement Hub, supply chain excellence helps develop collaborative partnerships which drive sustainable outcomes and add value across everything we do.”
  • Fortem - “To continue our success, we must make sure that our business and our people, including our supply chain, are prepared and eager to deliver the change we need. Please come and speak to our team if you are interested in being part of our strong supply chain.”
  • Savills - “We offer our technical and commercial expertise to clients and onsite teams with the aim of optimising value, developing category strategies, analysing business needs and producing innovative solutions. Organisations that wish to register an interest in becoming an approved service partner can speak to one of our team at UK Construction Week.”
  • Places for People - “Growing your supply chain? We do whatever it takes to reach the best, most sustainable solution for the community and setting we’re serving. We’ll team up with specialist suppliers, dovetailing our skills and experience so we can achieve more than we thought possible.”

One of the fastest growing procurement consortia in the UK, Procurement Hub is part of Places for People, the UK’s leading social enterprise.

Procurement Hub will also curate a programme of talks covering a range of topics including the implications of the new Procurement Act 2023, and how to access local authority tenders.

Alan Heron FCIPS, Director of Procurement at Procurement Hub, said: “Procurement is a vital aspect of the construction industry, and with the new Procurement Act now live, it’s never been more relevant and important to understand the process.

“It’s important that Procurement Hub and Places for People are recognised as being at the forefront of procurement in the UK. It’s an honour to be asked to give advice and guidance to other public sector organisations. ”

With an overall theme of ‘Growth’, UK Construction Week (UKCW) London has announced a myriad of new features and co-located shows for the show in May. The only event designed to cater for the whole construction supply chain, UKCW London 2025 will not only be co-located with The Stone Show & Hard Surfaces for the first time in its history, but will feature an array of exciting initiatives and exclusive launches.

These include the debut of Workwear & PPE Live by PCIAW®, a dedicated show for construction clothing, footwear, and accessories, in an exclusive partnership with the Professional Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW®).

After the success of its debut at the Birmingham show in October, UKCW London will also feature Onsite On Hire, making its return to London after 16 years. Onsite On Hire is a hire industry showcase designed to show the very best tools, compact plant and equipment exhibitors.

Another exciting feature for the show in May, and coming to UK Construction Week London for the first time, will be HVAC+R, which will see a showcase of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions.

UKCW London attracts over 18,000 visitors, and runs alongside The Offsite Show and Grand Designs Live, making it the largest construction trade show in the capital. The 2025 event will also feature a new VIP pass, allowing visitors to elevate their experience for just £99 per day. The new pass allows VIP guests to skip the queues with fast-track entry, relax in style in the exclusive VIP Lounge with complimentary coffee, a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, and a dedicated WiFi network throughout the day. What’s more, free parking at the venue is included in the purchase of the ticket.

Following the London show in May 2025, UKCW Birmingham returns to the NEC from 30 September to 2 October 2025.
